The West Virginia Book Festival draws thousands of visitors from around West Virginia and the surrounding states. Each year the festival offers something for book lovers of all ages and interests.

Admission is free to participants. Along with presentations from visiting authors, the Book Festival offers the Festival Marketplace for visitors to purchase books from regional publishers, individual authors and other vendors. In addition, children of all ages enjoy the Word Play area, where they can explore reading through hands-on activities provided by the Kanawha County Public Library and other community organizations.
