Everything is now potted or repotted. Ended up grabbing a black raspberry plant and some black-eyed susans at the local store. The thought of fresh wild strawberries and raspberries (if the birds and squirrels leave any for me, that is)...

Thank the gods for native plants. They all survived, to include the bitty seedlings, the recent cold weather dips. Wheew.

Spent part of the weekend thinning out milkweed seedlings into different pots, planting new seeds, and perhaps uh, ordering more seeds. I also tried to send telepathic messages to the local ant colonies as the aphids are Feasting on one of my strawberry plants.

I bought flowers. Meant to buy a hanging basket, but never found just the right one. I need some plant stands or tables or something for the deck, so I can elevate the flowers. The tomatoes aren’t super tall yet, and I planted them on St Patrick’s Day. I guess I just have plant envy, because the tomatoes at the gardening places are a foot high and the stem is an inch thick, and that’s the sort of tomatoes I want to grow!

I bought petunias and a dahlia, and a huge leaf basil, and some oregano, and some lavender, and some more petunia, and a couple of tall orange things. I had to bring it all in last night because we had frost possiblities.

I bought more seeds. Thankfully there's a bit of a cold spell for the next week which means the seeds can be planted immediately outside instead of chilling in the fridge for a week or so.

All of the things, to include the new seeds, are growing splendidly! I'm doubtful the strawberry plants will fruit this year between whatever took care of the flowers and the aphid farms.
