The Death Thread

Who was Alex Trebek?

He’s just... always been there. This one hurt, even though we’ve known it was imminent.

Trebek hurts. Jeopardy has been a staple of my life.

It's like 2020 said, you got a day of happiness and sanity with Biden's election. Now let's double down for the worst year ever.

I don’t have details, but I’ve just learned that one of the WGB/wigbers (xen0phile) passed away in recent days. <3 to those who knew him during the invasion days.

Chick Corea. The first jazz musician I was introduced to and paid attention to and followed.

Jack Terricloth.

https://www.worldinferno.com/news

We are devastated to say that our guiding spirit, instigator, inciter—the person who, to most of us, lived under the name Jack Terricloth—has left us for the astral plane. We will be working on plans for a celebration of his extraordinary life. For now, we want to thank Jack for inspiring this remarkable community—something more than simply band, family, or scene—which changed the lives of so many people in ways which are hard to articulate, and which is perhaps the most enduring part of his legacy. Please raise a glass of your choice in his memory; we shall not see his like again.

Daniella's brother.

We got off trail last week after 5 days in the Winds in WY (Cirque du Towers), and her phone blew up once we got service. Completely unexpected.

He was rather different than D- and I, but I did respect his views on guns (after much discussion.) He did also go a bit Q-adjacent in recent years. He will be missed. Going to the memorial tomorrow.

Michael K. Williams  I've been re-watching The Wire and had just finished viewing a phenomenal scene between the characters of Bunk and Omar when my phone pinged the alert of his death. What a significant loss of talent.
